Used pool pump motor purchase and exchange.

Used pool pump motors and complete units may be accepted for refurbishing, recycling, or credit toward replacement when inventory needs allow.

This program comes from the original Phoenix Pool Pump repair and refurbishing work. Not every used motor is a good rebuild candidate, but some cores still have value for parts, exchange inventory, or responsible recycling.

Condition matters. A motor that failed from worn bearings may be very different from one with severe water intrusion, burned windings, broken housings, missing labels, or incompatible frame details. Complete pump-and-motor units may also be reviewed differently than loose motors.

Before you ask

Information that helps evaluate used equipment.

Used equipment is easier to evaluate when the label, frame, horsepower, voltage, and failure symptom are known. Photos are useful, especially of the motor label, pump body, shaft area, wiring cover exterior, and any obvious damage.

Write down horsepower, voltage, frame type, brand, and model if visible.
Note whether the motor is single-speed, two-speed, or variable-speed.
Describe why it was removed: noisy bearings, failed start, leak, upgrade, or unknown failure.
Keep the pump and motor together if the complete unit may be useful for parts or exchange.
Do not disassemble wiring or internal components unless you are qualified.
Confirm current purchase or credit options before bringing equipment in.
